No warm air
Raise your hand to the register. If you’re not feeling hot air after the system’s been running for a few minutes, that’s a sign something’s wrong. The blower may be working, but the furnace isn’t.
Thermostat issues
Keep adjusting the thermostat, but nothing seems to happen? It’s possible the thermostat and heater aren’t communicating correctly. Turn the system off and call us for Day or Night repairs here in Buffalo.
No pilot light
Most gas furnaces and boilers need a lit pilot light to start. Others use an ignitor. If the pilot light is out, it may need to be reset. Try this, and then call us if you continue to have issues.
Strange noises
All furnaces make some sound while running. However, if you’re hearing loud squealing, screeching, grinding, or banging sounds coming from your heater, you probably should call in an expert.
Odd odors
When you first turn your furnace on for the season, the air coming out may smell musty. This is built-up dust burning. However, a moldy smell or a persistent burning smell should be investigated.
High heating bills
Here in the Bay Area, we’re all used to dealing with high winter gas and electric bills. However, if your most recent bill is through the roof, it might be a sign that something is wrong with your furnace.
